Recovery
from an illness or unhealthy emotional pattern also requires attention
to the spirit; such attention is often a missing component in one’s
healing. In our culture there is little or no talk of the spirit or
soul. But the ability to believe in something greater than one’s
self that watches over us can liberate and comfort.
Some
people access the spiritual realm through religion, others by simply
surrendering, in an act of faith, to believe in a greater or higher
power. We are more than bones and cells, muscles and memory. We human
beings have a spark of life that some call the soul and others the spirit.
In some way, as you continue to heal, stay conscious of the need to
nourish the spiritual part of you.
